The Great Boulder Cricket Club is a member of the Eastern Goldfields Cricket Association based in Kalgoorlie Western Australia and has been so for 55 Years. The club has two Senior Teams (A & B Grade) and five Junior Teams (2 x Under 13's, 2 x Under 15’s and an Under 17’s) competing in the EGCA.
“2009-10 Award Winners Announced”
GBCC’s player coach Chris Johnston is this year’s winner of the prestigious EGCA Champion player award the O’Shaughnessy Medal. The all rounder was rewarded for an outstanding season where he compiled 547 runs and claimed 12 wickets. Reserve Grade skipper Brett Simmons completed a two blue double when he was awarded the EGCA Reserves Cricketer of the Year Award, whilst up and coming batsmen David Forrest was the recipient of the Rookie Of The Year Award. At the GBCC presentation night Johnston capped a memorable personal season by claiming back to back wins in the 2009-10 Jerrard Medal as the GBCC A Grade club champion where he polled 19 votes to secure the win ahead of Daniel Campo. The Emerson Medal Awarded to the Reserves best player was a tie between Brett Simmons and David Forrest. The Softley Medal for the Under 17’s was won by promising young batsman Damien Sweet. Other worthy recipients on the night were Ryan Edwards who captured the Lou Nazzari Rookie of the Year, Sherell Hinchliffe was crowned Club Person Of The Year. Evergreen veteran Todd Altus also was acknowleged on becoming the first player in the clubs history to surpass 6000 runs and 200 A Grade wickets.
